Job summary

deciBel Research, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Software Engineer to join the GMD Weapon System Fire Control team. You will translate Ada code to C++, implement new capabilities, and test complex physics-based algorithms for MDA customers.

You will review requirements and test cases, collaborate with teammates on modernization efforts, and support CI/CD practices in a secure, in-person environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM, ideally Math or Physics.
• 2 years of related experience or a Master's with 0 years.
• Experience solving mathematical and physics based problems.
• Experience with optimization algorithms.
• Ada or C++ software development experience.
• MATLAB and Python experience.
• Containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm Charts, Docker).
• Jira/Confluence and DevSecOps tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Git/Gitlab) for CI/CD.
• Modeling and Simulation interpretation.
• In-person/closed-area work environment.
• Experience with fire-control related problems and MDA programs.
• Linux scripting and operations experience.
• Active Secret clearance; U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Translate Ada code to C++ and implement new capabilities.
• Develop and test math/physics based algorithms for GWS Fire Control.
• Review requirements and test cases for Engagement Planner team.
• Collaborate in a team environment and modernize legacy code.
• Support in-person work and participate in reviews.
