Job summary

You will implement and test Ada/C++ capabilities and contribute to code modernization in a highly visible DoD program. Candidates should hold a STEM degree, have 5+ years of related experience (or 3 years with a Master’s, or up to 10 years with a PhD), possess MATLAB and Python skills, and hold an active Secret clearance; U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM field required.
• 5+ years related experience or 3 years with a Master's or up to 10 years with a PhD.
• Experience solving highly mathematical and physics based complex problems.
• Experience analyzing and implementing optimization algorithms.
• Recent Ada or C++ development experience; willingness to master Ada.
• MATLAB and Python experience required.
• Active Interim or Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship; able to work in-person in a closed-area environment.

Position Description:

As a Software Developer on the GMD Weapon System (GWS) Fire Control (GFC) Engagement Planner team, you will work in collaborative environment to understand, implement, and test existing and new capabilities and algorithms and may participate in code modernization and translating Ada code to C++. The algorithms and capabilities implemented by the Engagement Planner team are mathematics and physics based complex solutions that will be highly visible to the GWS customer, Missile Defense Agency (MDA). You will also be expected to support reviews of requirements and test cases that are developed in support of the Engagement Planner team.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in STEM related field

Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in STEM related field, and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of related experience, or 0 years with a PhD not to exceed 10 years
• Experience with solving highly mathematical and physics based complex problems
• Experience analyzing and implementing optimization algorithms
• Recent and extensive Experience Developing Software in Ada or C++
• Willingness to become highly proficient with Ada software development
• Quick to learn and absorb new concepts and information
• Recent MATLAB and Python Experience
• Must have an Interim or Active Secret Clearance
• Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment
