Salary Range: $162,000 – $194,000 / year (dependent on experience, education, and skill set)
Seeking an experienced Software Engineer (Level 1) to support Applied Cyber Concepts research, rapid prototyping, and software development initiatives in Laurel, MD.
In this role, you will bridge foundational cyber research and operational capability by designing, prototyping, and deploying secure software components. You will author comprehensive hardware/software design specifications and implement solutions across full-stack architectures—incorporating interfaces, security mechanisms, database integrations, backend frameworks, and intuitive user experiences while executing rigorous testing against government-approved test plans.
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Experience & Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus at least 7 years of software engineering experience on programs/contracts of similar scope and complexity, OR
11 years of relevant software engineering experience without a degree (4 additional years substituting for the degree).
Core Language: Strong hands-on proficiency with Java.
Build & Development Tools: Solid understanding of modern software dependency and container tools including Gradle, Spring Framework, Docker, and Git.
Environment: Hands-on experience working in Linux operating systems and Bash terminal environments.
