Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Java engineer in Colorado to own full stack development, from design to deployment, ensuring scalable and secure software. You will work on modern cloud‑native architectures, implement microservices, and drive best practices across the team.

The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of hands‑on Java experience, proficiency with Spring Boot, JSP/React/NodeJS, and a culture of collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining products
• Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code
• Consistently creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs
• Performs analysis on failures, proposes design changes, and encourages operational improvements
• Makes sound design/coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefront
• Takes feedback from code review and applies changes to meet standards
• Conducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures
• Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices

Requirements

• Three to five years of relevant experience
• Expert level of Java 8 and 21
• Strong experience in Spring Boot and other Java frameworks/libraries and Cloud API development
• Experience with JSP, React & NodeJS
• Deep understanding of the microservices, APIs, Junits, Mockito
• DevOps and CI/CD: understanding and experience of setting them up, Kubernates
• Experience with Cloud including on-prem, Containerization
• Database experience: relational and non-relational
• Experience working with the architecture diagrams and tools
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to guide the team without overpowering, lead by example but give an opportunity to grow
• Experience of working with contractors and/or offshore engineers is preferred
