Job summary

Captivation Software LLC is seeking a mid-level DevOps Software Engineer to oversee and monitor live production operations, ensuring availability, reliability, and performance of the project’s software suite.

The role requires strong Linux, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD with GitLab, and experience with ELK/Prometheus. U.S. citizen with Top Secret/SCI clearance is mandatory; Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with relevant SWE experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Overseeing and monitoring live production operations to ensure availability, reliability, and performance of the software application suite.
• Identify, diagnose, and respond to service disruptions, performance degradation, and operational issues.
• Support system sustainment activities and collaborate with development/operations to maintain health and enable continuous service delivery.
• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government clearance with a favorable Polygraph; U.S. citizen.

Description

Captivation Software is looking for a mid level software engineer who will be working in a DevOps focused position. In this position, the DevOps Software Engineer shall be responsible for overseeing and monitoring live production operations to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of the project's software application suite. Responsibilities include identifying, diagnosing, and responding to service disruptions, performance degradation, and operational issues, performing basic troubleshooting and corrective actions, supporting system sustainment activities, and collaborating with development and operations teams to maintain system health, improve operational efficiency, and support continuous service delivery.

Security Clearance:

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Required Skills:

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools
• Experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containers
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools including GitLab CI
• Distributed logging and monitoring (ELK Stack, Prometheus/Grafana)
• Familiar with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
• Familiar with Helm Charts to deploy containerized services on Kubernetes
• Familiar with Messaging Frameworks including RabbitMQ
• Familiar with IaC principles, methodologies, and tools such as Ansible
• Experience with Git Source Control System

Desired Skills:

• Experience with SQL databases including PostgreSQL
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite including Jira and Confluence
