Job summary

Captivation Software LLC is seeking a Software Engineer 3 in Annapolis Junction, MD to contribute across the Linux/Bash/Python/Spring stack with NoSQL databases and container orchestration.

The role focuses on development, sustaining, and integration with COTS and FOSS software, in support of national security missions. A Top Secret/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Top Secret/SCI U.S. government clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
• Master's degree with 5+ years of SWE experience, or Bachelor's with 7+ years, or 9+ years total experience.
• Senior software engineer capable of development, sustainment, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Integrate with COTS and FOSS products and libraries; ensure quality and delivery.

Description

Captivation Software is looking for a senior level software engineer who shall be responsible for developing, sustaining, and troubleshooting the project's software suite of applications. Software development activities include implementation, testing, and integration with other COTS and FOSS products, packages, and libraries.

Requirements

Security Clearance:

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Nine (9) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Required Skills:

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools
• Recent software development experience using the Spring Framework including Spring Boot, Spring Data and Spring Integration
• Experience with SQL databases including PostgreSQL
• Experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containers
• Experience with container orchestration technologies including Kubernetes
• Experience creating Helm Charts to deploy containerized services in a Kubernetes environment
• Familiar with Messaging Frameworks such as RabbitMQ and Kafka
• Familiar with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as Bamboo and GitLab CI
• Familiar with IaC principles, methodologies, and tools including Ansible
• Experience using Git Source Control System

Desired Skills:

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite including Jira and Confluence
