Job summary

Onyx Point, LLC. seeks a senior software engineer with an active TS/SCI clearance to design, implement, and optimize software for large-scale back-end systems. You will lead technical work, mentor teammates, and ensure robust data processing using NoSQL, Hadoop, and related technologies.

Requirements include 7+ years as a SWE, a BS in CS or related field, and US citizenship. Cloud/Big Data experience strongly desired. Remote-friendly with flexible work options.

Qualifications

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add features.
• Debug existing software and correct defects.
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or environments.
• Develop simple data queries for databases or data repositories.
• Provide recommendations for improving documentation and development standards.
• Develop algorithms to meet performance and functional standards.
• Assist with testing procedures for software components.
• Write or review software and system documentation.
• Lead the team at the level appropriate to the project.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and modify software systems using analytical models.
• Analyze systems flow, data usage and processes to improve performance.
• Modify software to adapt to new hardware or improve performance.
• Collaborate with users and engineers to meet requirements.
• Implement complex database interfaces and queries.
• Contribute to documentation and software development process improvements.
• Lead and mentor junior team members as applicable.
• Develop or implement data processing and big data solutions.
