Job summary

Onyx Point, Inc. is seeking a senior software engineer with active TS/SCI w/ Full Scope polygraph clearance and citizenship.

Candidates should have 14+ years in SWE for programs of similar scope and a BS in CS or related field, with additional experience substitution possible for the degree. The role emphasizes design, coding, debugging, and system integration across large data-focused architectures using Python, PySpark and AWS services.

Qualifications

• 14+ years as SWE in programs/contracts of similar scope, type and complexity
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university
• 4 years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for a bachelor’s degree
• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph security clearance; U.S. citizenship required
• Experience with distributed scalable Big Data stores and MapReduce ecosystem is highly desired

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
• Debug existing software and correct defects
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
• Develop simple data queries for databases or data repositories
• Develop or implement algorithms to meet performance and functional standards
• Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components
• Write or review software and system documentation
• Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met
• Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and obtain information on project limitations and capabilities
• Oversee one or more software development teams and ensure work is completed per the process
• Design or implement complex algorithms requiring timing/resource constraints
