Job summary

LexisNexis Risk Solutions is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software components within a product area. You will work with experienced engineers to build expertise and apply best practices in a collaborative environment.

You will contribute to the design and development of software solutions, write and review specifications, and participate in code reviews while learning modern technologies and methodologies.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
• Experience building REST APIs and solid experience with SQL.
• Knowledge of data storage subsystems.
• Hands-on experience with Java 21, Spring Boot and Spring Framework.

Responsibilities

• Write and review portions of detailed specifications for simple components.
• Under guidance of senior engineers, implement development processes and code reviews.
• Operate in Agile or Waterfall environments with stakeholders.
• Fix basic bugs and resolve issues as needed.
• Stay updated with new technologies.
• All other duties as assigned.

About the Role

As an entry-level Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of software components within a specific product area. Working closely with experienced engineers, you will build technical expertise, apply development best practices, and help deliver high-quality software solutions in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of simple complexity.
• Under the guidance of senior-level engineers, successfully implement development processes, coding best practices and code reviews.
• Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
• Complete bug fixes and resolve basic technical issues as necessary.
• Keep abreast of new technology developments.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Basic knowledge of data manipulation languages.
• Experience building REST APIs and solid experience with SQL.
• Knowledge of data storage subsystems.
• Hands-on experience working with Java 21, Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
• Knowledge of test-driven development.
• Ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies.
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills and interpersonal skills.

U.S. National Base Pay Range

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $59,200 - $98,600. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.

This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
