Description

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer who will share our passion for product differentiation and excellence. Software Engineers at Wiland contribute to the design, development and maintenance of complex systems that manage and analyze large amounts of data using some of the latest, emerging technologies. This position requires analytical abilities, strong understanding and experience with distributing computing platforms and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Participates in cross-functional teams to deliver software and systems that meet business requirements
• Engages with Product and business representatives to understand and clarify requirements and translate requirements into technical solutions
• Collaborates with other teams including architecture to document design, interfaces and overall implementation plans
• Develops high-quality software and shepherds it through the entire software lifecycle including unit testing, supporting quality assurance processes and release deployment
• Communicates frequently with all stakeholders sharing status, roadblocks, contingencies and changes from original plans

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of software development experience in the following key technologies:
  • Apache Spark
  • HDFS
  • Linux
  • Scala
  • PySpark
  • Python
• Experience in the following a plus:
  • RDBMS/MySQL/MariaDB
  • C/C++ - experience a plus
• Familiarity with Agile methodology
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Team oriented approach with a positive attitude

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

• Location: Remote
• Department: Information Technology
• Compensation Range: $69,500 - $92,500. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component.
