Job summary

VGW is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Engineering team in Poland. You will build and extend scalable backend systems for player-facing meta features including quests, periodic bonuses, jackpots, and live data streaming systems.

We host docker containerised apps on AWS (ECS/EKS) with Kotlin on the JVM, TypeScript on the client, and PostgreSQL/DynamoDB data stores. You will own your projects, ship them, and run them in production.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java or Kotlin for backend development.
• Experience with cloud technologies, ideally AWS and Kubernetes for infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB).
• Understanding of Apache Kafka.

Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Engineering team in Poland and are currently looking for a Software Engineer to join the team.

In this role you will build and extend scalable backend systems for player-facing meta features including quests, periodic bonuses, jackpots, and live data streaming systems.

In terms of our tech stack,

we host our docker containerised apps on AWS, sometimes in ECS but moving to EKS Kubernetes. In the containers, we run Kotlin on the JVM. TypeScript runs our client side where it’s mostly React. Our databases are PostgreSQL and DynamoDB with Snowflake as our Data warehouse.

Key requirements:

• Proficiency in Java or Kotlinfor backend development
