Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned software developer in Wisconsin to own end-to-end software across non-embedded systems. You’ll translate customer requirements into robust designs, build and optimize integrations, and document architectures and interfaces.

You will work in an Agile team, implementing CI/CD pipelines and managing platform health data, while collaborating on cross-functional projects that require strong problem solving and regulatory awareness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a software developer.
• 2+ years experience with C, C#, C++, Java, Python or Visual Basic.
• 2+ years experience using Git or similar source control systems.
• 2+ years experience with Docker or Kubernetes for container-based apps.
• 1+ year experience with databases (relational or non-relational).
• 2+ years experience with Win-forms, WPF, Blazor, or other Windows/Web development technologies.
• Knowledge of specifications/standards and aircraft/product certification systems.
• U.S. Person for export control compliance.
• Ability to complete a technical assessment and pass drug testing per post-offer process.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle
• Review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into initial software product designs
• Develop, maintain, enhance, and optimize software products and functionalities for systems integrations
• Develop, document, and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs
• Debug and resolve issues to ensure software reliability and efficiency
• Handle user inquiries, troubleshoot technical issues, and analyze user feedback
• Implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and relevant regulatory changes
• Develop, establish, monitor, and improve software processes, tools, and key performance metrics
• Execute and document software research and development projects
• Advise on software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations
• Perform software project management and software supplier management activities
• Track and evaluate software team and supplier performance for compliance with project plans and industry standards
• Support platform health management systems for aircraft and proprietary platforms

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
• 5+ years experience as a software developer
• 2+ years of experience in programming in C, C#, C++, Java, Python or Visual Basic
• 2+ years of hands on experience with Source Control Management tools (like Git)
• 2+ years of experience developing software using Docker or Kubernetes for container based applications
• 1+ year of experience working with any relational or non-relational databases
• 2+ experience of Win-forms, WPF, Blazer, or other Windows/Web development technologies
• Knowledge of specification formats, requirements guidelines, and change control processes, including the relationship between specifications/standards and aircraft/product certification systems
• Knowledge of host environments, including processors, operating systems, and networks, with the ability to build, integrate, and troubleshoot software components
• Knowledge of requirements derivation and allocation across system, subsystem, and software levels, including traceability throughout the product lifecycle
• U.S. Person required for U.S. export control compliance
