Job summary

FIS in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a seasoned PS software professional to analyze, design and develop business logic as per client requirements. You will collaborate with BAs and customers to produce clear specifications and robust solutions.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of Unix-based development, debugging, and strong analytical and communication skills. Knowledge of Pro C, PL/I or Fortran and IBM AIX is a plus, with a track record of delivering quality software in financial services.

About the team

This team provides solutions and develops products/applications in Wealth space of Financial Services. This team is part of Professional services (PS) development and with that we keep getting unlimited opportunities by being part of various client implementations, client conversions/migrations, providing dedicated services etc. The team provides excellent opportunities to grow your career by giving exposure to different types of work/technologies and client interactions.

What you will be doing

This position will be part of Professional Services (PS) group. Person handling this position would be responsible for Analysis, design and development of business logic/software as per client’s requirements. It also requires analyzing defects reported by clients and providing fixes to the product/Application. The position also requires writing specifications documents by working closely with BA’s and customers.

What you bring

• 5+ overall years of experience preferred.
• Extensive experience of Software Development on Unix platform.
• Experience in writing design or specification documents.
• Practical experience of debugging.
• Good Problem solving, analytical and time management skills.
• Knowledge of the financial services marketplace.

Skills

• Excellent knowledge of C. Knowledge of Pro C, PL1 and/or Fortran would be added advantage.
• Experience in working on Unix platform. (IBM AIX)
• Should be aware of debugging in C on Unix platform.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Independent and self-motivated - able to self-teach from examples and available resources.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Hands on experience in scripting (Shell and Perl) would be added advantage.
