Job summary

INflow Federal, a defense contractor delivering AI-driven solutions, seeks a Software Developer to build AI features for Ontology-based mission apps supporting an Intelligence Community customer. This TS/SCI on-site role is based at Patriot Ridge in Springfield, VA, where you will implement LLM-enabled workflows and RAG capabilities within existing software.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable mission-focused apps.

Job Overview:

As a Software Developer at INflow Federal, you'll build and ship AI features for Ontology-based mission applications supporting an Intelligence Community customer. This is TS/SCI, on-site work at Patriot Ridge in Springfield, VA â the applications you write go directly to systems and analysts working real intelligence problems.
In this role, you will develop LLM-enabled workflows and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities inside existing mission software, integrate data streams from multiple sources and network environments into the customer's system, and execute cloud platform migrations across AWS, OpenShift, and Kubernetes. You'll work in Python, Java, and Scala on an agile scrum team, applying DevSecOps practices â code hardening, automated security scanning, CI/CD â so that what you build survives contact with complex, secure networks.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Integrate multiple data streams into customer system
• Complete Cloud platform migrations (between currently existing and available platforms)
• Develop AI features for existing Ontology-based software applications
• Creates sustainable software applications â work is estimated accurately, branching strategies are efficient, code repos are maintained, etc.
• Works as a member of an agile scrum team and participates in regular agile ceremonies applying scrum methodologies â daily stand up, planning, sprint reviews, demos, retrospectives.
• Implements requirements from the product backlog
• Assists in writing backlog requirements/user stories
• Utilizes a modern DevSecOps approach in building software applications
• Develop and modify applications, software, services, utilities, interfaces, and IT systems that support systems and analysts.

Qualifications

• Software development experience designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and mission-focused applications.
• Strong programming experience with Python, Java, and Scala.
• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs, Git-based workflows, automated unit/integration/system testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices.
• Hands-on experience with Docker/containerization, microservice architectures, Helm, and development container environments.
• Experience developing applications using Generative AI technologies, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Large Language Models (LLMs), and LLM-enabled workflows.
• Experience designing, deploying, and supporting cloud-native applications using AWS, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
• Experience integrating, transforming, and managing data from multiple sources, organizations, and network environments.
• Experience deploying applications into new or complex network environments.
• Experience applying DevSecOps practices, including secure software development, code hardening, dependency/package updates, vulnerability remediation, and automated security scanning.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex software systems and collaborate across development, infrastructure, security, and mission teams.
• Bachelorâs degree in a related field or 6 additional years of experience in information technology.
• 5+ years of experience

$148,550 - $187,450 a year
The is the likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with data normalization, transformation, and visualization techniques.
• Familiarity with graph-based data models, data relationships, and advanced data structures.
