Job summary

Tundra Technical Solutions is seeking a Test/Systems/Embedded Engineer for a contract assignment to support drone software development and validation. The role emphasizes testing before release, multi-threaded programming in C++ and Python on Linux, and hardware integration with RTOS environments.

Ideal candidates will have a BS in a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience, with strong technical writing skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mathematics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Test Engineer, Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, Embedded Systems Engineer, or related.
• Experience in testing prior to launch, test plan development and execution, multi-threaded and distributed programming in C++ or Python on Linux; embedded hardware integration; RTOS experience; strong writing skills; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, document and deliver software for drone systems using C++ and Python, RTOS (Yocto) and Linux.
• Own testing of new features and products, including defining V&V thresholds, strategy and test plans.
• Produce comprehensive documentation and work independently with minimal supervision.

Job description

• Design, develop, implement, test, document and deliver software for drone systems using multi-threaded programming in C++ and Python, real-time operating systems (RTOS including Yocto), and kernel system call interfaces in a Linux environment, with focus on sensor integration and embedded applications.
• Own testing of new features and products, including establishing verification and validation (V&V) thresholds, a V&V strategy, a test plan, executing the test plan, and reporting out on test results.
• This role is to work on testing of complex sensing systems using best practice engineering standards, produce comprehensive, usable documentation and work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mathematics, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in the job or occupations of Test Engineer, Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, Embedded Systems Engineer, or related.
• Experience in the job offered or related occupation must involve testing prior to launch of software solutions, test plan development and execution, multi-threaded programming and distributed programming in C++ or Python on Linux, embedded systems development with hardware integration, real-time operating systems (RTOS) experience, strong technical writing skills, and ability to work independently.

Nice to have:

This posting is for a contract assignment with Tundra Technical Solutions to provide services to the Fortune 5 Client.

The pay range that Tundra in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $80/hour - $87/hour.
