Job description

Candid currently has an opportunity for a Software Engineer. As a Mid-Level Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of high-quality web products. Your primary responsibility will be to design, build, and optimize scalable APIs and webpages using C# and React in the AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate diverse systems and ensure robust, secure data interactions that meet business needs.

Position: Software Engineer

Reporting to: Software Engineering Manager

Schedule: 35-hour work week, Monday through Friday

Compensation: $75,000-$120,000 (this range is for the NYC area and will be adjusted for other localities; additionally, factors like skills and experience will be considered).

Location: Remote. In-person attendance is expected during our annual, weeklong all-staff summit. Additionally, participation for in-person meetings is expected at least once per year for most employees, at least once per quarter for senior leaders, and at least once per month for the executive team. Staff that are not in NYC are expected to travel for these meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Build high quality software solutions that deliver value for customers.
  • Develop and maintain APIs using C# programming language, ensuring code quality, security, and scalability.
  • Apply principles of object-oriented programming to enhance application architecture and design.
  • Work within cloud computing environments, such as AWS and Microsoft Azure, to deploy, manage, and troubleshoot API solutions.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies within the API development sphere.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of application development experience, with a strong focus on API development using C# and React based SPAs.
  • Proficiency in backend and frontend technologies.
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) and CRM platforms like Salesforce is preferred.
  • Ability to document requirements and specifications.
  • Communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive self-starter who is results oriented with teaming capabilities.
  • Flexible and adaptable with good interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to perform other duties and special projects as needed/requested.
  • College degree is strongly preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
