Who We Are: WPP is a non-profit organization that helps keep the lights on by ensuring power utilities in the West achieve maximum benefits from coordinated operations. Our work is customer-driven, relationship-based, and collaborative.

We’ve been serving the energy sector for over 80 years and are at the forefront of ensuring the reliability and security of the power grid while spearheading the integration of renewable energy sources. As a leader in the energy sector, we manage power generation and transmission across multiple states, facilitate competitive energy markets, and foster innovation to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

If interested, please submit your application to katyb@hrannieconsulting.com.

Who You Are: You are passionate about applying technology solutions to business challenges and can offer options about how technology can support organizational goals and strategic objectives. You have experience not only in software development and QA but also partnering with leadership to create the roadmap to get there. You’re excited to work in a close-knit team where ownership is a big part of your role, with a lot of creative flexibility. You want to build solutions from the ground up and thrive in this space (as a small non-profit, we don’t have all the infrastructure or systems in place).

You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. With the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, you excel in managing a diverse workload and supporting dynamic programs and teams. You can easily navigate changing demands to meet the needs of the organization.

Qualifications include:

  • 5 – 10 years’ professional experience as a Systems Analyst, Software Engineer, or combination of the two
  • Demonstrated software development experience with a preference for full-stack development (framework and language agnostic)
  • Experience in Systems Analysis
  • End-to-end full-stack Software Development experience, including testing and QA
  • Open to experience with various technologies, frameworks, and development environments
  • Experience working in a small-mid-sized organization or start-up environment – wearing all the hats, working with limited resources, engaging with stakeholders
  • Degree in Computer Science, or related field, or years of experience in lieu of a degree

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience or interest in the energy industry.
  • Experience managing AWS infrastructure

What You’ll Do: You’ll partner with program and organizational leadership to develop technical solutions to business challenges. Your work will be a balance of software development (50%), systems analysis (30%), and project management (20%).

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of the entire SDLC, including requirements gathering, understanding the supporting business processes, software development, testing, and roll-out
  • Creating and managing process documentation, supporting business continuity
  • Understanding business context, the broader environment and organizational goals, and bringing innovative technology solutions to the table
  • Supporting corporate shared services, projects, and programs with innovative technology solutions
  • Managing current environments and technology used:
  • Django application support and development, hosted in an AWS environment
  • Visual C++ (in-house application)
  • PowerShell
