Akkodis is seeking a Software Development Engineer for a Contract role with a client in Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite). We’re ideally looking for an applicant with Proficiency in Python and C# and Knowledge of Cameo and SmartBear tools.

Pay Range: $67-$70/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Position Overview

• We are seeking skilled Software Development Engineers to join our team under the Leased Worker Program. These roles will support military tools programs, contributing to software development tasks in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software solutions using Python and C#.
• Apply object‑oriented programming principles to design and implement robust applications.
• Utilize GitHub for version control and collaborate on code reviews.
• Write and maintain requirements and test procedures for software components.
• Participate in Agile sprints and manage tasks through Rally.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure integration and compliance with program standards.
• Support occasional on‑site activities, including integration and customer meetings.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Python and C#.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming.
• Experience with GitHub, Visual Studio, and VS Code.

Additional Skills

• Ability to write requirements and create test procedures.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and sprint planning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace or automotive industries (or adjacent fields).
• Knowledge of Cameo and SmartBear tools.
• Exposure to integration with hardware systems.

Work Location

• Remote‑first with occasional on‑site visits as needed.
• Candidates should be located in Eastern or Central time zones for team alignment.
