Job Title: Software Engineer III
Clearance Required: Public Trust
Work Location: Asheville, NC; Silver Spring, MD; Stennis, MS; Boulder, CO; Remote

Alpha Omega is actively seeking a Software Engineer III to join the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) Data Stewardship Division (DSD). This division collaborates with NOAA and the community to develop and maintain infrastructure supporting environmental data management from oceans to solar surfaces.

Key Responsibilities:

1. 4+ years of experience in full-stack development.
2. Build and maintain web applications supporting metadata tooling.
3. Contribute to the stewardship of the nation's environmental data archive.

Required Qualifications:

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer -- Associate).
2. Experience/Skills: 4+ years in full-stack development, familiarity with XML and JSON, experience with MVC design pattern, Git/GitLab, logical and analytical thinking, and remote team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with Grails or Spring Framework.
2. Expertise in web technologies (HTML, JS, CSS).
3. Proficiency in XSLT, AWS cloud, Terraform, CI/CD practices, Kubernetes, Jira, and Agile/SAFe Scrum methodologies.
4. At least one relevant certification (list specifics if available).

Salary and Benefits:

Salary range: $63,000 - $70,000, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include PTO, paid holidays, health and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) with match, flexible spending accounts, tuition reimbursement, and more.
