Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate junior frontend engineer who enjoys building and maintaining single page applications to support the increasing number of educators using Lexia’s products.

In this role, you will assist in designing and developing frontend reports, components, and tools for the myLexia suite of applications. You will collaborate with designers, product managers, and senior engineers to implement new features and modernize myLexia, focusing on migrating from AngularJS to the latest Angular.

The ideal candidate is an early-career engineer eager to grow. This role offers opportunities to learn new tools, work on impactful projects, and collaborate closely with senior engineers.

Location

This position is fully remote within the USA (EST schedule preferred).

Job Responsibilities

• Develop new views and reports for the myLexia applications using Angular and Typescript.
• Contribute to migrating the myLexia application from AngularJS to the latest Angular.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to understand specifications and plan development.
• Participate in team processes including standups, planning, code reviews, and task refinement.
• Continuously learn new tools and technologies to expand your impact.

Job Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience developing web applications.
• Familiarity with at least one Javascript framework (Angular, React, Vue).
• Experience building and maintaining SPAs.
• Knowledge of modern build tools (webpack, npm, vite, yarn, grunt).
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Angular and/or Typescript.
• Experience with frontend component libraries.
• Knowledge of backend languages like PHP, Java, C#, or Python.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
