Job summary

What You'll Do As a Software Development Specialist 4
  • Under general direction from assigned Information Technology Supervisor to provide solution designs, develop project plans with project manager or recommend approach through defining tasks &/or leading meetings relating to programs for computer applications.
  • Assists analysis of the solution design's business case.
  • Edits or creates for recommendation and approval enterprise or IT artifacts, including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, best practices and position papers.
  • Develops pass/fail testing criteria.
  • Assesses overall system performance including optimizing code and identifying and resolving peripheral software/hardware conflicts.
Option 1

60 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: providing solutions design, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to programs for computer applications including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

Option 2

completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; AND 42 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: providing solutions design, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to programs for computer applications including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

Option 3

completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; AND 36 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: providing solutions design, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to programs for computer applications including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
