Job summary

The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking a Software Development Specialist 1 for its Information Technology Application Development Division in Columbus, OH. You will develop and modify program modules using C# .NET and SQL, and provide post production support.

Responsibilities include writing tests, gathering requirements, documenting processes, ensuring system security, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver reliable software solutions while adhering to IT policies.

The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking one (1) Software Development Specialist 1 in the Information Technology Application Development Division.

What You’ll do as a Software Development Specialist 1

  • Write and execute unit/system test cases; debug and revise programs to ensure desired results.
  • Assist in gathering requirements, documenting business process flows, and developing software solutions to business problems.
  • Provide post production support, including maintenance, enhancements, and troubleshooting.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to exchange technical information and lead focused discussions.

  • Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
