Job summary

enGen is seeking an experienced applications software development manager to lead IT projects, create plans, and manage activities within an assigned unit. The role involves assessing viability, recommending strategies, and guiding teams through scheduling, direction, and milestone delivery.

You will monitor quality, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with customers, staff, IT colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or closely related discipline
• Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or closely related discipline
• 5 years in a leadership/mentoring role
• 5 years of planning, implementing, maintaining and growing capabilities within relevant discipline
• 3 years of developing, communicating and presenting concepts to varying audience

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization; manage customer expectations; facilitate meetings.
• Prepare procedures, policies, reports and correspondence; collaborate and negotiate with departments corporate wide.
• Collaborate with customers, staff, IT colleagues and other stakeholders in identifying customer requirements, assessing impacts to other areas, considering options, comparing costs and benefits, and recommending solutions.
• Identify issues and recommend solutions; Create presentations and present concepts to clients; Implement recommendations/solutions and ensure client receives necessary assistance; Liaise with clients to keep them informed of progress and decisions; Advise clients on options, risks and impact on processes and priorities.
• Ensure continuous improvement of processes and delivery of results within assigned unit/area.
• Organize, direct and coordinate cross-functional activities; Encourage innovation and focus resources; Apply quantitative risk assessment; Lead team in mitigating risks and applying contingency plans.
• Provide leadership to respond to business opportunities/challenges and environmental factors; Oversee analysis of issues and review recommendations; Assess impact of strategic changes; Manage activities within an assigned business unit; Collaborate on transitions.
• Optimize utilization of resources by applying appropriate concepts, technologies and workflows; Accept direction and develop high-performance teams; Champion process improvement; Implement solutions aligned with strategic direction; Stay current with industry standards.
