Job summary

Amazon Prime Team seeks a Software Development Manager to impact millions of customers by building scalable, reliable systems. You will work with business teams to design and implement new features using Java, Perl, and Linux, guiding multiple development teams globally.

You will own architecture decisions, coach engineers, and help set technical direction while ensuring operational excellence and customer value at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years of designing or architecting scalable systems.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the systems responsible for world-wide Prime membership eligibility and signup.
• Interface between product owners and development teams to define user stories.
• Decompose requirements into technical execution plans across multiple teams.
• Make feature trade-offs to ship software without compromising customer experience.
• Engage with other teams, evangelize projects, and identify reusable components.
• Represent the technical team to senior leadership.
