Job summary

Amazon Prime Video Delivery is seeking a seasoned engineering leader to define the long-term vision for a team delivering scalable video delivery architecture. You will hire and grow engineers, align roadmaps with product managers, and drive high-impact initiatives across CDN capacity and performance.

This role emphasizes data-driven decision making, cross-functional collaboration, and strong focus on customer trust and availability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling)
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

• Drive continual architectural improvements to the efficiency and flexibility of the platform while keeping an extremely high bar on customer trust, performance, and availability
• Argue for the right outcomes with data, conviction, and diplomacy
• You are equally obsessed about delivering the best possible customer experiences. You will lead the team in defining software architecture, define and drive key performance and quality metrics, and communicate effectively with engineers, partners, leaders, and a broad set of stakeholders.
• Work with the Product leader and your team to keep an eye on the implementation of strategic initiatives (CDN Capacity Management, Feature development, Re-engineering for scale, etc.)
• People management - 1:1s with your team to keep a pulse on group morale and sub-team challenges
• Strategic meetings with Senior leadership (MBR, QBR, OP1, 3YP, Roadmap updates, etc.) and update leadership on relevant program statuses
• Operations management - review production metrics and dashboards to keep an eye on global video delivery for Prime Video

Prime Video Delivery is the team responsible for orchestrating the best content delivery experience for Prime Video customers. Whether the request is for video-on-demand or a live event, we strive to have sufficient capacity available for customers so they have the highest quality viewing experience with zero buffering.

Basic Qualifications
