Job summary

Amazon Web Services is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead a two-pizza team building the next generation of access control for AWS Glue Data Catalog in Palo Alto, CA. You will own a team responsible for Lake Formation and a greenfield initiative to simplify access control at scale.

This high-impact role partners with product, security, and other AWS teams, guiding design, reliability, and performance of production services to deliver exceptional customer experiences

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a two-pizza team of engineers, owning hiring, development, and performance
• Own the Lake Formation service and ensure reliability, health, and feature evolution
• Drive the Glue Grant surface from design through GA
• Define technical strategy for data access control in Glue Data Catalog
• Partner with product, security, and adjacent service teams to deliver cohesive experiences
• Manage multi-quarter programs with milestones, dependencies, risks, and trade-offs
• Raise technical bar through design reviews and architectural decisions
• Manage on-call rotations, incident response, and reliability improvements
• Translate customer problems into engineering requirements and executable solutions
