Job summary

Amazon Leo Network Observability and AI Foundations team is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead architecting observability systems and AI-driven diagnostics for the satellite-to-terrestrial network.

You will hire and mentor engineers, drive multi-tier distributed services in Java/C#/C++, and partner with product teams to shape software lifecycle from design to live operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of engineering experience.
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services.
• 1+ years of providing technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle experience.
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using Java, C#, or C++ experience.
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using service-oriented architecture experience.
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using distributed programming experience.
• 5+ years of Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupational experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Amazon Leo is Amazon's initiative to launch a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The Commerce team plays a crucial role in developing and managing the systems that will enable customer acquisition, billing, and overall business operations for this service.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Software Development Manager to lead and be part of our Amazon Leo Network Observability and AI Foundations team. This role will be instrumental in building observability systems that can quickly detect network connectivity issues from satellite to terrestrial services to improve Amazon Leo's global network connectivity. This role will also pioneer agentic AI for satellite network diagnostics to report, troubleshoot and mitigate issues across our satellite and E2E network stack and mission operations use cases.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
