Job summary

Fiserv is seeking a Software Development Engineer Advisor I to join our on-site team in New Jersey. You will collaborate with product managers, clients and engineers to design and deliver client-facing web applications, resilient microservices, and high-volume APIs in cloud infrastructure.

You will design and implement solutions using TypeScript, React, Node.js, Tailwind CSS, Nginx and Docker, with a focus on AI-assisted software engineering, DevSecOps, and robust CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building web applications with TypeScript, React and Node.js.
• 3+ years of hands-on AI integration for Embedded UI coding.
• 5+ years integrating front end with RESTful APIs (JSON over HTTPS) using Java and Spring Frameworks (Spring Boot).
• 4+ years designing, debugging and testing object-oriented code.
• Advanced understanding of design patterns and algorithms for maintainability and performance.
• Experience with Nginx and Docker in web app contexts.
• Strong CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement solution architecture for modern client-facing web applications.
• Design, develop, and deploy web applications using TypeScript, React, Node.js, Tailwind CSS, Nginx, Docker.
• Leverage AI for software engineering tasks including design, coding, code review, and debugging.
• Work with Azure, OpenShift, AWS, and related cloud technologies and reverse proxy configurations.
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum delivery with product managers, clients and engineering teams.
• Contribute to CI/CD and DevSecOps practices for repeatable, secure deployments.
• Apply design patterns and algorithms to improve reliability and performance.
• Troubleshoot and operate in complex IT environments, including networking and security.

Software Development Engineering - Advisor I

About your role:

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our engineering team at Fiserv. You'll collaborate with Technical leaders, product managers, clients at leading financial institutions, and cross-functional engineering teams to design and deliver client facing Web applications, resilient, high-volume API, microservices, integrations from UI, in cloud infrastructure. Your work will help shape solution architecture and drive reliable, performant production systems.

What you'll do

• Define and implement solution architecture for Modern, Robust Client facing Web applications.
• Design, develop, deploy Web application using Typescript, React, Node.js 22, Tailwind CSS, pnpm, Nginx, Docker
• Effective usage of AI for Software Engineering - Design/Coding/Code review/Debugging
• Hands-on working experience in Azure, AFD, Apache, Reverse proxy configurations and Containerization
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum delivery model with product managers, clients and engineering teams.
• Contribute to CI/CD and DevSecOps practices to enable repeatable, secure deployments.
• Apply design patterns and algorithmic approaches to improve reliability, maintainability, readability and performance.
• Troubleshoot and operate within complex IT environments, including networking, security and performance considerations.
• Cloud migration and platforms experience (Azure, PCF, OpenShift, AWS).
• Experience with Splunk and SIEM tools

Experience you'll need to have

• 8+ years recent experience in building Web applications using Typescript, React and Node.js, Tailwind CSS
• 3+ years of experience with hands-on AI integration for Embedded UI coding and standardization
• 5+ years hands-on experience integrating front end with RESTful APIs (JSON over HTTPS) built with Java and Spring Frameworks (Spring Boot).
• 4+ years hands-on experience designing, writing, debugging and testing object-oriented code.
• Advanced understanding of design patterns, software algorithms and coding techniques that improve testability and maintainability.
• Experience with building web applications using Nginx and Docker
• High proficiency with modern CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.

How you'll work

This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.

Travel

Approximately 10% of travel off-site or to other office locations is expected.
