Job summary

Amazon Leo Commerce seeks a Software Development Engineer to help design and implement telecom components for its satellite network in Redmond. You will collaborate with satellite, networks and security teams and partner with product, UX, marketing, and backend commerce teams to translate needs into scalable, cross-device solutions.

You will participate in code reviews, mentor peers on front-end practices, and document software architectures and deployment strategies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Design and Implement Telecom Components, Applications and Services
• Partner with the Satellite, Networks and Security engineering teams
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, marketing, and backend commerce service teams to translate customer and business needs into accessible, scalable solutions that work across devices and browsers
• Leverage agentic development workflows and generative AI tools to accelerate feature delivery, and identify opportunities to improve infrastructure using AWS native services
• Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to teammates while coaching others on front-end best practices, UI design patterns, and maintainable coding standards
• Write clear documentation for your team's software and train new team members on how it is constructed, tested, and operated
