Job summary

KellyMitchell Group is seeking a Software Development Engineer Mid for a 12-month onsite contract in Irving, TX. You will design and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs, integrating enterprise platforms with third-party systems.

Required: 3+ years building backend services with Node.js/Java/Python, 2+ years AWS experience (S3/IAM/serverless), and SQL/NoSQL data pipelines. Onsite work five days/week.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building backend services and APIs using Node.js, Spring/Java, Python, or similar technologies.
• 2+ years of experience building cloud-based solutions using AWS (S3, IAM, serverless).
• 2+ years of experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and data pipelines.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful and event-driven APIs.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed and multi-vendor systems.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Our client, a leading retail organization, is seeking a Software Development Engineer Mid to join their team! This is a 12-month contract position located in Irving, TX, requiring onsite work five days per week. This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend integrations between enterprise platforms and third-party vendor systems


• Develop and support RESTful APIs, event-driven services, and batch/streaming data pipelines


• Build scalable integrations that support marketing technology platforms and enterprise data solutions


• Partner with Product, Architecture, Data Engineering, DevOps, Security, and business teams to deliver reliable solutions


• Translate vendor API documentation and technical specifications into production-ready services


• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity while maintaining high-quality code


• Troubleshoot complex distributed systems and ensure reliable production performance

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

• 3+ years of experience building backend services and APIs using Node.js, Spring/Java, Python, or similar technologies


• 2+ years of experience building cloud-based solutions using services such as AWS S3, IAM, serverless functions, or compute


• 2+ years of experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases and building batch or streaming data pipelines


• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful and event-driven APIs


• Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed and multi-vendor systems


• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience


• 2+ years of experience integrating third-party/vendor APIs and data feeds using OAuth, IAM roles, cross-account access, or similar authentication methods


• Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, Auto Loader, COPY INTO, or similar streaming technologies


• Experience with Databricks or lakehouse architectures


• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes


• Working knowledge of React, Angular, or Vue.js


• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $45.00 and $49.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
