Job summary

KellyMitchell is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our PDM team. This role focuses on backend services, distributed systems, and data pipelines powering the eCommerce platform and enterprise systems.

You will design RESTful APIs using Java, Spring, and Python in an XP/XP-driven Agile environment with heavy pair programming and TDD. Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of backend experience, strong Java and Python skills, and hands-on Kafka experience, along with CI/CD and modern

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with an emphasis on backend development.
• Strong programming experience with Java and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka or similar event streaming technologies.
• Experience building scalable, high-performance distributed systems.
• Experience developing RESTful services using Spring Framework and HTTP-based APIs.
• Strong understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD), pair programming, and Agile software development practices.
• Experience with Git, automated testing, and modern CI/CD workflows.

Job Summary

Our client, a leading retail technology organization, is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join their Product Data Management (PDM) team. This team builds and supports the systems responsible for ingesting, validating, enriching, and publishing product data used across the organization's eCommerce platform and enterprise systems. The ideal candidate is a senior backend engineer with strong experience in Java, Python, and distributed systems who thrives in an agile, Extreme Programming (XP) environment centered around pair programming and Test-Driven Development (TDD).

Contract Location: Richfield, MN

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and distributed systems supporting enterprise product data management
• Build RESTful APIs and services using Java, Python, Spring, and related technologies

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)

• Experience with Groovy and CockroachDB
• Familiarity with ReactJS or other modern JavaScript frameworks
• Experience working with JSON, XML, and enterprise data transformation
• Knowledge of GitHub Actions and modern deployment automation
• Experience with scripting and automation using Python, Ruby, Perl, or shell scripting
• Understanding of networking, security, DNS, firewalls, and load balancing concepts
• Experience working in Extreme Programming (XP) environments with continuous delivery practices

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $68.00 and $80.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
