Job summary

Amazon’s Selection Monitoring team is recruiting a Software Development Engineer to tackle distributed systems and large-scale data processing that power the Amazon catalog. You will help build scalable services, deploy ML models and LLM-based solutions, and drive quality across the development lifecycle in a Seattle-based, globally connected environment.

You will collaborate with Principal Engineers and scientists to deliver fault-tolerant systems, optimize data flows, and build end-to-end

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Partner with Principal Engineers, Sr.SDEs, and Product and Applied Scientists to define build systems for Selection Monitoring’s mission-critical systems driving the brand and product experience on Amazon.
• Deliver and own scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available services that underpin our large-scale data processing solutions.
• Develop solutions to efficiently deploy and orchestrate hundreds of application flows across a hybrid set of compute environments.
• Build solutions using LLMs and ML models.
• Drive operational excellence initiative and continuously improve quality bar for software delivered by the team.
