About The Position
As our SDET, you will be part of a growing team building cutting-edge live event technology. Reporting to the Director of QA, you will collaborate with the CTO, developers, product owners, and senior team members to deliver high-quality products. You will have significant autonomy to explore and innovate.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with Java, Selenium, RESTful APIs, MySQL, Couchbase, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role ensures both functional and non-functional quality, integrating into CI/CD pipelines and utilizing tools for system observability.

Work Environment
This role is 100% remote with an option to work at our Santa Monica office. Most teams operate on West Coast hours. Currently, we only hire US Citizens or Green Card holders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate early in development to ensure quality from the design phase.
• Define test strategies supporting CI/CD with developers and product teams.
• Develop automated test suites using Java, Selenium, REST-assured, and Postman for UI and API testing.
• Validate data across MySQL and Couchbase databases.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Monitor application behavior using New Relic and logs to detect issues.
• Manage test data, mocking tools, and automation utilities.
• Troubleshoot flaky tests and improve reliability.
• Support environment setup for testing across various stages.
• Conduct non-functional testing: performance, security, reliability.
• Verify functionality and performance of features and services.
• Create test cases, record results, and report bugs.
• Participate in agile ceremonies with a QA focus.
• Work with teams to define test requirements.
• Maintain QA automation frameworks for Web, Mobile, and APIs.
• Improve QA processes and work independently to solve problems.
• Understand the full Tixr software stack.
• Assist employees with questions, fostering a quality culture.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience as an SDET with a focus on Software Quality Engineering.
• Strong skills in Java, JavaScript, Selenium WebDriver; quick to learn new languages.
• Proficient in REST-assured and Postman for API automation.
• Experience with end-to-end testing across front-end, API, and database layers.
• Familiar with CI/CD quality gates and observability tools like New Relic.
• Experience with performance testing and software testing methodologies.
• Agile Scrum experience, familiarity with JIRA, Git.
• Strong organizational skills, quick learner, multitasker.
• Proactive, positive attitude, excellent communication, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Performance testing experience.
• Web security testing knowledge (OWASP).
• Experience in ticketing, live events, or entertainment industries.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, contract testing (Pact), feature flags.
