Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking exceptional talent to build the next generation of robotic software frameworks for dexterous manipulation, locomotion, and human-robot interaction at scale.

The role involves designing components for generalized manipulation, cloud/edge inference, real-time teleoperation, and fast no-code interfaces, collaborating with cross-functional teams to prototype and validate innovative robot software.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Python and/or C++ programming is required.
  • 4+ years in CS, ME, EE or related field experience.
  • Experience with robotics architectures like ROS, Orocos, etc.
  • Experience with communication layers such as DDS, EtherCAT, LCM.
  • Experience with test driven development (TDD) in robotics software.

Responsibilities

  • Design critical components of a software framework that enables generalized dexterous mobile manipulation.
  • Design and integrate cloud and on-edge inferencing systems.
  • Integrate low-latency communication middleware that enables real-time teleoperation.
  • Develop human-machine-interfaces that enable fast no-code programming for end-users.
  • Design components that enable metrics and data aggregation.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to rapidly create new concepts and prototypes.
  • Document the designs, performance, and validation of the software architecture.

Key job responsibilities

Basic Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Python and/or C++ programming
  • 4+ years in CS, ME, EE or related field experience
  • Experience with robotics architectures like ROS, Orocos, etc.
  • Experience with communication layers such as DDS, EtherCAT, LCM, etc.
  • Experience with test driven development (TDD) in robotics software
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Robotics, with a focus on software frameworks and architectures
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorRT
  • Experience in ROS/ROS2
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience building and configuring embedded Linux systems for robotics platforms, including BSP integration and image creation using tools like Yocto/OpenEmbedded.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
