Job summary

Amazon is hiring a Software Development Engineer I in Austin, TX. You will own the full lifecycle of your code from design to deployment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable cloud-native services.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM field.
• Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language (Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript).
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and participate in CI/CD processes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design and operate innovative products and services that delight customers.
• Design and develop scalable solutions using cloud-native architectures and microservices in a distributed environment.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation.
• Build and maintain resilient distributed systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance development productivity and stay current with emerging technologies.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns.
• Work in an agile environment with CI/CD and on-call responsibilities.
• Demonstrate operational excellence through monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of production issues.
