Job summary

Vantor is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Spacewrx team in Westminster, CO. This role can be remote two days per week and in the office on Tue/Wed/Thu, working on a cloud-based satellite ground system.

You will join an Agile Scrum team, collaborating with System, Operations, and Spacecraft Engineers and Product Owners to deliver high-quality software. The role reports to an Agile Manager.

Qualifications

• US citizen is required.
• CS or engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of software development experience on complex systems.
• Proficiency with Python for web services (Django) and scripting.
• Proficiency in Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL, CENTOS/AL3).
• Experience with REST/JSON/YAML APIs.
• Experience with test automation languages/frameworks: Cucumber, Gherkin, Behave.

We are hiring for a Staff Software Engineer to join our Spacewrx team in Westminster, CO.

This position can work remotely two days per week and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays.

The Spacewrx software engineering group for this position is responsible for the Mission Control System (MCS) domain of the Vantor Ground System for our constellation of earth observation satellites. The role reports to an Agile Manager and works with System Engineers, Operations Engineers, Spacecraft Engineers, Space Vehicle Operators, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners.

As a member of an agile scrum team, the Staff Software Development Engineer will work on a cross-functional team on the next gen, cloud-based, satellite ground system software. The team member will provide on-schedule, high quality, operational and test code adhering to designs, acceptance criteria and corporate standards, with appropriate demonstrations and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen
• Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years software development of complex software systems
• Expertise with Python for webservices (django) and scripting
• Expertise in Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL, CENTOS/AL3)
• Expertise with API concepts like REST/JSON/YAML
• Experience with test automation languages/frameworks: Cucumber, Gherkin, Behave

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with build and deploy technologies like K8S, docker, jenkins, helm, terraform
• Experience with RabbitMQ/PostgreSQL/Redis/Elasticsearch
• Expertise with Ruby and GO programing languages
• Experience in hybrid cloud networks
• Experience with CI/CD
• Experience with Aerospace and/or Satellite Ground Systems
• Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment
• Experience with operational support of a complex microservice based system

Pay Transparency

To support pay transparency, Vantor includes salary ranges in all U.S. job postings. Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role should not expect to receive compensation at the top of the range. The listed range reflects the expected pay for this position, and final offers will be determined based on each candidate’s experience, expertise, and alignment with the role.

The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $105,000.00 - $140,000.00 - $154,000.00 annually.
