Job summary

Ascent Cloud is recruiting a Software Developer Summer Internship for 2027 in Detroit, MI. You will collaborate with experienced engineers to design, build, and maintain real-world software applications in an agile environment, gaining foundational skills and accelerating your technical career.

You will work with a team to develop features, review code, identify issues, and grow your practical knowledge of modern web frameworks, cloud platforms, and databases.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of CS fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
• Strong problem-solving ability and eagerness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior software engineers and product managers to develop, test, and deploy software features.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and daily stand-ups.
• Assist in identifying, troubleshooting, and fixing software bugs and edge cases.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to increase test coverage and reliability.
• Explore new tools and frameworks to improve development processes and code quality.
