Software Developer Subject Matter Expert (SME) - SME

As a Top-Secret Software Developer for this program, you will be working in an organization that’s mission is to develop and operate the best possible software for critical national security enterprise applications. This organization leverages SCRUM and SAFE Agile software development methodology and strong Dev Ops practices.

You will be responsible for developing code, testing and debugging new software or enhancements to existing software. You will have a good understanding of business applications as well as user, performance, quality, interface, and security requirements. You will work with technical team to understand problems with software and resolve them. You will resolve customer complaints with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. You will be responsible for design, testing, security lockdown implementation, integration with standard software packages, integration with automated patching and deployment technologies, documentation, and training to include automating application and configuration deployments and updates.

Responsibilities:

1. Develops codes, tests, and debugs new software or enhancements to existing software.
2. Has good understanding of business applications as well as user, performance, quality, interface, and security requirements.
3. Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them.
4. Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
5. May assist in development of software user manuals.
6. Responsible for desktop design, testing, security lockdown implementation, integration with standard software packages, integration with automated patching and deployment technologies, documentation, and training to include automating application and configuration deployments and updates.
7. Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.
8. Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives.
9. A Subject Matter Expert is an individual whose qualifications and/or expertise are exceptional and/or highly unique.
10. Has domain and expert technical knowledge.
11. Performs the following kinds of functions: Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project’s inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs; Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff; Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues; Consults with client to define need or problem supervises studies and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.
12. Decision making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation.
13. May supervise others.

Requirements:

• Active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility
• Minimum of 12 years of experience with 10 years of related technical specialized experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other related field
• In absence of degree, additional years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements
