About the Role

We are working with a specialist cybersecurity services firm that supports U.S. federal clients on high-impact national security initiatives. They are currently seeking a Ruby Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience to contribute to mission-critical software projects within a secure environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly technical, innovation-driven team that tackles unique problems across defensive cyber operations, R&D, and cloud security.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Ruby applications (primarily using Ruby on Rails)
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise backend systems
• Package and deploy applications using Docker
• Work with AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD tools (GitLab)
• Collaborate with a distributed engineering team on technical problem-solving
• Produce clear and thorough technical documentation

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• At least 1 year of experience building with Ruby on Rails
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL, Docker, GitLab, and AWS services
• Comfortable working independently in a remote setup, with the initiative to solve challenges proactively
• Must hold Top Secret or Interim Top Secret clearance (required for project work)
• Must possess or be willing to obtain Security+ CE (CompTIA) within 90 days
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Proactive, adaptable, and curious about learning emerging technologies
• Comfortable working in a highly technical, fast-paced environment
• Interest in cybersecurity operations, automation, or threat detection
