Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is an engineering discipline that combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures reliability and uptime for Google's services, focusing on automation, infrastructure, and eliminating operational work through software solutions. Responsibilities include managing project priorities, designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions.
The base salary range is $118,000-$170,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary is determined by role, level, location, skills, experience, and education.
