Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking an experienced Software Developer to support and enhance a large-scale ERP environment in Florence, AL. You will work with internal customers, IT teams, and external partners to deliver reliable, well-documented solutions and reports.

The role emphasizes transforming functional specifications into software, diagnosing ERP issues, and maintaining alignment with business needs. On-site schedule is Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. with additional hours as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience providing software development solutions for large-scale ERP systems.
• Experience interacting with internal business customers and IT teams.
• Ability to translate functional specifications into programmed solutions.
• Proven ability to utilize programming toolsets in an ERP environment.
• Ability to diagnose ERP issues and guide resolutions.
• Knowledge of IBM DB2 and SQL.
• Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is a plus.

Responsibilities

This role is central to keeping the ERP platform aligned with evolving business needs and works closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver reliable, well-documented solutions.

What you'll do

• Report to the Technical Manager - Software
• Perform day-to-day support of a large-scale ERP system
• Conduct meetings with internal customers, IT teams, and external companies
• Manage large-scale projects, including collaboration with external partners (consultants) to ensure adherence to defined project requirements and timeframes
• Develop software to accomplish business solutions
• Collaborate with the software team to deliver business-aligned solutions
• Plan, prioritize, and execute activities associated with assigned work
• Follow functional specifications from Business Analysts to develop software solutions
• Develop reports using large-scale reporting systems
• Recommend enhancements and improvements to keep the ERP system state-of-the-art
• Ensure alignment of the ERP system with business requirements and needs
• Create and deliver documentation along with training for internal customers
• Provide courteous, complete, and timely support for end users
• Work well within a team environment and alongside external partners

Required qualifications

• Knowledge of IBM DB2 and Standard Query Language (SQL)
