AMEWAS is hiring a Software Developer (DAPS)-Journeyman to join the Data Acquisition and Processing team at Patuxent River, MD. The role emphasizes Windows-based DAPS software development, GUI design, and DoD-compliant policies within an Agile framework.

The candidate should have a BS in CS/engineering, 3+ years of relevant experience, strong Python, DevOps/CI, API design, and GUI skills, plus DoD Secret Clearance on onboarding. On-site work only with a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering; 3+ years of relevant experience may qualify
• 3 years of relevant work experience
• Proficiency with Python
• Proficiency with DevOps and Continuous Integration
• Experience with complex application architectures and API design
• Experience designing GUIs
• Experience analyzing legacy software for modernization
• Experience with Agile development and DevOps methodologies
• Ability to collaborate with customers, engineers, and technicians
• Current DoD Secret Clearance on onboarding is required

Responsibilities

• Designs a Windows application that will serve as the new DAPS software
• Uses Agile methods with fixed-length sprints
• Develops and documents high-level system architecture for DAPS
• Creates System Architecture documentation and related project artifacts
• Collaborates with team to interface with legacy DAPS SQL databases and EG&G ODS transceivers
• Implements a GUI to control software functions and data acquisition workflows
• Interacts with Windows based systems and various measurement equipment
• Uses Python, Django, VS Code, Windows, Linux, GitLab, and MySQL
