Job summary

CACI International Inc in the United States is seeking a Software Developer to join an Agile team delivering DoN mission-critical software. You will design, build, and deploy features across front-end and back-end systems in unclassified and classified environments, collaborating with government customers to meet evolving requirements.

The role emphasizes secure coding, AI exploration, audit compliance, and ongoing modernization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Five or more years of experience with Java, Python, or similar programming languages and/or experience writing PL/SQL code.
• Experience with current AWS AI services, modern AI frameworks, and AI considerations—including security, privacy, and regulatory requirements—for developing and deploying AI features.
• Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing and able to support off-hours and weekend coverage as needed.
• Willing and able to obtain an Interim/Secret clearance. Current and active Secret preferred
• Willing and able to work a hybrid schedule with 1-2 days per week onsite in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement project deliverables throughout the software development life cycle.
• Update front-end code using Java, Python, and JavaScript, as well as back-end code and Oracle databases, for applications.
• Apply secure coding best practices to help protect each application.
• Design, develop, and implement software modifications in response to system change requests.
• Implement software enhancements and add new functionality based on Government-directed requirements.
• Troubleshoot system software defects and develop effective solutions.
• Analyze system database performance and recommend and implement improvements.
• Mitigate software security vulnerabilities to support cybersecurity compliance.
• Support the application release pipeline in development environments.
• Use Jira to track code and database changes within an Agile Scrum process.
• Research AI, data structures, and algorithms using a variety of tools, technologies, methodologies, and data analysis techniques to improve existing AI models and develop innovative solutions.
• Analyze current system architecture and propose upgrades as new technological advances become available.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to support compliance with financial and information technology audit standards for operations and systems.
