Boeing is seeking a Software Engineer – Developer (Mid Level or Senior) to join the Phantom Works Advanced Mission Planning team in Berkeley, MO. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining software for autonomous systems that meet strict safety and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in engineering, 13+ years of experience, an active U.S. Secret Clearance (or obtainable), and strong skills in C++, real-time software, and autonomy.

Qualifications

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer – Developer (Mid Level or Senior) to join our Phantom Works Advanced Mission Planning team located in Berkeley, MO. This role is integral to supporting Boeing's Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization. The successful candidate will be involved in designing, developing, and maintaining cutting‑edge software solutions for autonomous systems that meet stringent industry, safety, and regulatory standards. You will work in a collaborative environment, supporting complex projects that require ingenuity, innovation, and adaptability to new technologies and development environments.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline or related field, with a minimum of 13 years of relevant work experience. An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance is required or the ability to obtain one post‑start. Candidates should have at least five years of software engineering experience, with a strong background in C++, real‑time software development, and autonomous or robotics software techniques. Experience with Agile development processes, system architecture, and interface definition is essential. Preferred qualifications include a degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science, along with experience in mission systems architectures, electromagnetic warfare, simulation development, and familiarity with software tools such as JIRA, GIT, and Jenkins.

Responsibilities
