Evertz Microsystems Limited is seeking a self-driven engineer to join a highly technical team building state-of-the-art technology for a fast-moving product. You’ll work across many languages and technologies, selecting the best tool for each problem and often building first implementations in new domains.

This role offers a dynamic, high-ownership environment with continuous learning, ambiguity, and interactions across vendors and disciplines.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Linux experience.
• 2+ years of experience with at least one MVC framework (Vue.js, React, or Angular).
• 3+ years of experience with JavaScript and Node.js.
• Strong self-direction, curiosity, and comfort learning new domains with minimal guidance.
• Solid communication and collaboration skills; able to work cross-functionally with other teams to gather context and drive projects forward.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and push forward state-of-the-art technology as part of an advanced, evolving product.
• Work across a wide range of programming languages and technologies, selecting the best tool for each problem alongside a highly technical team.
• Collaborate across teams, vendors, and disciplines to gather requirements and translate them into actionable technical plans.
• Take abstract, loosely-defined problems from concept through to finished implementation.
• Independently research and prototype solutions in domains where formal documentation may not exist (e.g., working from academic whitepapers or emerging standards).

We’re looking for a self-driven engineer to join a highly technical team building state-of-the-art technology for a fast-moving, evolving product. This role spans dozens of disciplines, vendors, and technologies — from industry-standard tools to bleeding-edge, domain-specific systems where the only “documentation” may be a research whitepaper. You’ll help choose the right technology for each problem and often be responsible for building the first implementation of something that doesn’t exist yet.

This is a dynamic, high-ownership role suited to someone who wants to learn continuously and isn’t intimidated by ambiguity.

• Experience with distributed systems (clustering, CRDT, eventual consistency)

Location: Burlington, Ontario
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

**Salary Range (Based on relevant Experience):**$85,000 to $105,000 per year.
