Job Description

BreakPoint Labs is seeking a Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience, a strong foundation in software development, and a passion for learning new technologies in an evolving industry. The role requires independent work with support when needed. The team primarily uses Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Docker, and JavaScript. The position is remote, but candidates must reside in the National Capital Region, Dayton, OH, or Vicksburg, MS, due to occasional on-site requirements. The ideal candidate should be proactive, curious, eager to grow, and capable of tackling both structured projects and ad hoc tasks.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with developers and engineers to develop and support applications
2. Troubleshoot software issues and develop solutions
3. Maintain technical documentation
4. Package applications for deployment using Docker (preferred)

Required Experience:

1. Experience with Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Docker, and JavaScript
2. At least 3 years in software application development, deployment, operation, and maintenance
3. At least 1 year of Python application development experience

Certifications: Security+ Continuing Education (CE) [CompTIA]. If not held, must be obtainable within 90 days of employment.

Security Clearance: DoD Interim Secret Clearance.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
