Job summary

Amazon’s AWS Capacity Forecasting and Planning team is shaping how we forecast demand and optimize infrastructure for billions of requests. You will own a world-class forecasting platform, expand replenishment models, and balance service availability with cost across AWS services.

You’ll learn to build from scratch, handle ambiguity, and develop large-scale distributed systems for internal and external AWS customers. Join a team that moves fast to drive value and efficiency at massive scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupation.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Build a world-class forecasting platform that scales to billions of time series data in real time.
• Expand inventory replenishment models and systems for each AWS service in the product portfolio.
• Optimize tradeoffs between service availability and fleet utilization.
• Drive fleet utilization improvements with meaningful impact on free cash flow.
• Automate capacity planning tools to optimize for availability and infrastructure cost.
