Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer II for AWS Applied AI Solutions in Seattle, WA. You will own features end-to-end, build new services for policy enforcement and human-in-the-loop workflows, and integrate with AWS services, balancing build vs compose choices while delivering reliable, scalable software.

You will work on greenfield projects, design for production, and collaborate across teams to meet customer milestones with a fast, high-impact development rhythm.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end: design, implement, test, deploy, and operate in production.
• Build new services for policy enforcement, session recording and replay, and human-in-the-loop approval workflows.
• Integrate with AWS services and make build-vs-compose decisions with your team.
• Handle customer content with care: recording pipelines, retention, and access controls where correctness is the product.
• Collaborate with engineers on adjacent teams to unblock dependencies and align on interfaces.
• Contribute to operational excellence: oncall, runbooks, alarms, and incident response.
