Job summary

Amazon Leo is hiring a Software Dev Engineer for antenna calibration in Redmond, WA. You will collaborate with hardware and FW/SW teams to bring up and test systems combining FPGA, firmware, RF, and networking functions.

You will develop tools for subsystems characterization, data storage, test automation, and phased array bring-up, contributing to a cutting-edge satellite network that expands internet access.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with systems architects, hardware engineering design teams and FW/SW teams to bring up and test systems with FPGA, firmware, RF, and networking functions.

  • Work on firmware design and implementation and application development.

As a Software Engineer for antenna calibration, you will collaborate with systems architects, hardware engineering design teams & FW/SW design teams to bring up and test systems combining FPGA, firmware, RF, and networking functions and build advanced tools for the following:

  • Characterizing subsystems and systems related to antennas
  • Complex data storage
  • Hardware test automation
  • Firmware design and implementation
  • Application development
  • Design automation for 2D and 3D structures
  • Develop bring up tools and scripts for phased array systems

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
