Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Redmond, WA, is seeking an engineer to design and implement phased array calibration systems, analyze performance, and model baseband/RF/antenna systems. You will work with antenna, modem, RF and Digital teams to refine radio designs and validate them in the lab.

Qualifications include BS in EE with digital communication theory, DSP, RF/antenna theory, and experience with Linux, Python/Matlab/C++.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering with relevant coursework in digital communication theory, DSP, RF/ Microwave Engineering, antennas and EM theory.
  • Experience with DSP techniques, digital modulation, radio architecture and RF system design.
  • Proficiency with Python, Matlab, or C++ and Linux/Unix.
  • Experience with lab test equipment such as VSAs, VSGs, VNAs and oscilloscopes.
  • Experience with SystemVue, ADS or LabVIEW.

Responsibilities

Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Responsibilities
  • Designing and implementing phased array calibration systems, signals, processing and algorithms
  • Performance analysis and design trade-off studies of phased arrays

Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
  • Experience with Linux/Unix
  • BS in Electrical Engineering with relevant coursework in digital communication theory, digital signal processing, RF/Microwave Engineering, Antennas and Electromagnetic theory
  • Experience in DSP techniques, digital modulation, radio architecture, line-up analysis, RF system design
  • Experience with lab test equipment like VSAs, VSGs, VNAs and Oscilloscopes
  • Coding and scripting skills with demonstrated experience in Matlab/Python/C++
  • Experience with simulation tools such as SystemVue, ADS or LabView
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
  • MS in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of work experience or PhD with 2+ years of experience
  • Experience working with phased arrays, calibration and antenna measurement
  • Experience with one of the mainstream antenna simulation tools (CST/HFSS)
  • Good understanding of modern wireless technologies (OFDM/MIMO) and medium access procedures
  • Familiarity with basics of probability and estimation theory

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
